The 'Brazosport area of Brazoria county is rich in things to do and places to go. Brazoria county is the birthplace of Texas with the first freedom shots taken at the old Fort Velasco landing on the Brazos river. You are only an hours drive from the NASA's Johnson space center, the city of Houston with Galveston only a short hop up the beach front road.
There are several fishing charter boats in the area. The state fish hatchery is in Lake Jackson. The Center for the Arts and Sciences is located in Clute. There are miles and miles of beaches, many county and city parks boat ramps, picnic and playground sites, year round golfing, SCUBA diving, surfing and swimming. there are two wildlife areas for birding, hiking and fishing.
